Product Description |
| Timeless and brilliantly functional, every Halsea for M-Edge Kindle jacket is constructed of a laminated canvas with finishing touches of leather on the exterior, and a front flap that closes securely as well as folds back for easy reading via a hidden magnetic closure. The interior of the jacket is made of lush brown synthetic microsuede and includes a side pocket for storage of papers as well as a smaller business card pocket and pen loop. Kindle is held in place via a sturdy four-point mounting system made of soft brown leather. The jacket is also compatible with the M-Edge innovative e-Luminator2 booklight (sold separately), for use when reading in low-light environments. The jackets are available in two patterns: Little Harbor, a classic lattice print with a bamboo twist in Kelp Green, Coffee Brown, and Navy Blue; and Boat Canyon, a charming pattern of crabs climbing on tangled rope available in Ocean Teal and Bonfire Brown. The Halsea for M-Edge covers will protect Kindle from damage while the colorful ocean-inspired patterns lend a beach-y tone to the beautifully constructed styles. |

Better than the M-Edge Prodigy - lighter than the M-Edge Platform COMPLETE WINNER!

I have both a M-Edge Platform Leather Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Smooth Mocha Brown and a M-Edge Prodigy Leather Kindle Jacket with Hinge (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Smooth Mocha Brown (except I have it in green!). While I love the Platform it actually can be a bit awkward to read with as it is heavier and bigger than other covers.
What the covers have in common: Excellent craftsmanship - sturdy construction. Nice materials and stitching. All perfectly fit the Kindle snugly leaving no fear it will slide out. All have beautiful and functional interiors (although the suede type material can get a little matted due to natural oils on your hands while holding but this is a minor quibble). All are available in at least 2 color options. All 3 covers also work superbly with the M-Edge e-Luminator2 Booklight for Amazon Kindle (Fits 6" Display, 2nd gen) which is what keeps me with M-Edge with so many other cover makers on the market. You just cannot beat the integration of jacket and light so seamlessly and the light uses a AAA battery.
The M-Edge Platform Leather Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Smooth Mocha Brown excels at providing great all around protection and can also be used as a stand on a table - this also works good at night reading in bed if you lie on your side as you can just lay the cover on its side and it stays put with your kindle resting nicely. You can easily get to the buttons. A nice feature. It also has 4 corners and no hinges which I found beneficial as hinges originally made me nervous. However, as much as I love it, it is a bit heavy and can be a little unwieldly for when I am out and about and want to bring my Flora (my Kindle's name). Keep in mind it is bigger and so needs a bigger cover/purse over it (like the Borsa Bella or Vera Bradley ones!) if you use one to put the Kindle in to protect the Kindle in its cover. Who woulda thunk you'd have needed a cover for your cover? But in my purse (OIY!) I want something that completely surrounds the kindle. I might have whole ecosystems in there!
Due to that I bought a M-Edge Prodigy Leather Kindle Jacket with Hinge (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Smooth Mocha Brown. Originally I thought this would work fabulously but I was actually disappointed when it arrived. I love the color, style, and construction but the functionality left a lot to be desired. In particular I hated how it folded back as it created a awkward way to hold my Flora and I found myself actively disliking it for long reading periods. It leaves too much material on the left and it didn't feel comfortable. I was scared of the hinges although I did not encounter any problems with them. I also did not like the side flap as it just hung there quite often - it didn't seem to go in the little slot naturally (unlike the Platform jacket which has the same flap but on the bottom and it works pretty well when the jacket is used as a stand)
So that left me without a book style cover. I found the Halsea for M-Edge Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Little Harbor--Coffee Brown and fell in love with the styling. I have to say that it does not disappoint! It folds back beautifully AND easily (something that did not happen with the Prodigy jacket!) and puts my hands in perfect position for holding Flora. The magnet works just fine and I've had no problems. The light fits like a charm. There is also a little Va Va Voom or Pizzaz to this cover! It says "I'm unique" and that is fun for me. There are no hinges as it has the 4 corners where the top two are elastic. Flora is very secure! Plus the cover is MUCH lighter to me than the Platform jacket.
I wasn't sure I would like the laminated part so much but it's fine and the benefit is that you can wipe with damp cloth. Given I have 2 cats and 2 kids that's a good thing! I am very happy with my new Halsea Jacket. It even comes in a nice little cloth like sleeve for protection. A very classy product! |

| I bought this case for my Kindle and I love it. The look of the case is great and the laminated canvas and pattern is beautiful. Along with this case I also purchased the M-edge e-Luminator2 booklight which fits insde the case in its own sleeve. The only thing that I would change about the case would be to have a larger or stronger magnet or slightly different placement to hold the leather flap down that ccloses the case. When I have the booklight in the case the case seems to be barely held closed by the magnet. Overall though I really like this case. |
I would change the magnet to close it for another option.

| Good design, nice texture, but I would change/get off the magnet for another way to close it... |
